Our focus has been on the immediate needs of food, clothing and shelter. To date GTN has distributed over 2,000 lbs of food, as well as clothing and other household needs. You, your families, your businesses and your churches have made this possible. Saying thanks seems like such a small gesture. Those who have received have been generous with their thanks. Many times the food or clothing has been far less meaningful than simply the encouragement they receive from knowing others care for them.

We would also like to say a special thanks to New Media Atlanta and ReTech South for their financial contribution and the wonderful example they have given the technology community in Atlanta. download Long Good Friday, The On that note, over half of the response Grace to the Nations received regarding the flood came through social media like Facebook and Twitter. We were able to connect with people far from our community and get them involved in ministry efforts. As Bob Dylan once sang, “The times, they are a-changin!”

I would also encourage you to go and read this story about local believers who took it upon themselves to get deeply involved and connected into the community of need.

In the days ahead we will continue to work with any local flood victims through our Life2Life Mentoring ministry as we assist them in rebuilding their lives and pointing to One who is greater than any flood. Continue to pray for the families affected, go out and get involved. HopeAtlanta is continuing to organize volunteers in ministry efforts. If you’re available, go and serve. BE the church!
