Introducing Grace to the Nations 2.0
May 30, 2008
Grace to the Nations has launched its new website integrating web 2.0 technology. The site is still under construction but it is functional and being updated regularly. I must give my brother, Brad Nix at Maxsell Real Estate a big fat thanks for helping me build the site, he’s always been the bigger nerd. I noticed at one point a very scary reality, my chat log with my brother had more to do with html code than baseball, and we both love baseball.
Check back often as new content is added. We want to push you to the edge of ministry and we will soon be inviting, asking, collecting, and recruiting a whole new community that connects around this ministry. We look forward to having you on board and keeping you connected to each other and into the community of need.

The Wenceslas Project
May 30, 2008
What is the Wenceslas Project? The Wenceslas Project is an opportunity for the community of Grace to the Nations to share Christ’s love by providing Christmas gifts for a Grace to the Nations client family.
How can I get involved? You, your family, Sunday School class, church, civic organization, or business can get involved by signing up to sponsor a needy family. We ask that you sign up any time before November 30th.
When will I receive my adopted family’s information? You will receive your adopted family’s information between November 10th -December 2 (dates are subject to change and we will work with you). This information will include a list of all family members, clothing sizes for each member, the interests of children in the family, and needed household items. We will also provide a list of prayer needs for the family, and ask that you pray for them as you prepare for The Wenceslas Project.
When and where do I deliver my gifts? Gifts should be labeled with the sponsored family’s name and may be dropped off at a GTN collection site before the Project Celebration. Call for directions.
Can I meet my adopted family? Yes! We encourage families to join us at The Wenceslas Project Celebration, TBA

The Poverty Challenge
May 29, 2008
Grace to the Nations is constantly seeking ways to combat poverty, not only in our own community but across the world. We plan and take mission trips of perspective to help educate and promote actions for helping make poverty history. Grace to the Nations will continue to make our community aware of poverty all over the world by not only sending others to poorer parts of the world but through education and projects that bring awareness and longer-term solutions.

Life2Life Mentoring
May 29, 2008
Grace to the Nations offers mentoring relationships to eligible and willing clients who desire to end the cycle of dependency. Grace to the Nations trains Life2Life volunteer mentors to be a part of a mentoring team that plans and relates directly to a life in need, giving participants opportunities they may never otherwise obtain. The goal of the ministry is to connect a life in need to work, to hope, and to spiritual maturity.

The Gospel Challenge
May 29, 2008
This emphasis alone separates us most simply from other local nonprofit ministries. We desire to be intentional in evangelizing, training, and connecting people around the gospel of Jesus Christ locally, nationally, and internationally. We believe that without the gospel all else is vanity, so we desire to make the gospel central to all that we are and to all that we do.
Biblical Foundation: 2 Corinthians 4:1-6

Bags of Grace
May 29, 2008
Grace to the Nations distributes critical items of need to eligible clients. Clients can receive a limited number of items per year and are eligible for more assistance if enrolled in the Life2Life Mentoring ministry. The Bag of Grace ministry is Grace to the Nations’ commodity based ministry. It serves to open up the lives of believers into the lives of clients, giving them a tangible witness to the reality of Christian love, grace and service.

Why Wenceslas?
May 29, 2008
Good King Wenceslas was the king of Bohemia in the 10th century. Good King Wenceslas was celebrated because of his charitable attempts to give food to the poor. In 1853, John Mason Neale chose Wenceslas as the subject for a children’s song to exemplify generosity. It quickly became a Christmas favorite, even though its words indicate that Wenceslas ‘looked out’ on St. Stephen’s Day, the day after Christmas.
Good King Wenceslas looked out on the feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight gath’ring winter fuel.
“Hither, page, and stand by me if thou know’st it, telling
Yonder peasant, who is he? Where and what his dwelling?”
“Sire, he lives a good league hence underneath the mountain
Right against the forest fence by Saint Agnes’ fountain.”
“Bring me flesh and bring me wine, Bring me pine logs hither
Thou and I will see him dine when we bear him thither.”
Page and monarch forth they went forth they went together
Through the rude wind’s wild lament and the bitter weather.
“Sire, the night is darker now and the wind blows stronger
Fails my heart, I know not how, I can go no longer.”
“Mark my footsteps, my good page tread thou in them boldly
Thou shalt find the winter’s rage freeze thy blood less coldly.”
In his master’s steps he trod where the snow lay dinted
Heat was in the very sod which the Saint had printed
Therefore, Christian men, be sure wealth or rank possessing
Ye who now will bless the poor shall yourselves find blessing.
